Genuinely disappointing. I wish I could say the food was disturbing, but it might be the only saving grace. The venue is small, and although there was space for multiple pairs to be seated with space, everybody was crammed together. The most bougie hibachi seating. Music was put intervals of being too loud and then almost unheard. The drinks weren't good, if anything, get a juice because the creative drinks require a refined pallet to appreciate how bitter and unappealing they were. The two "chefs" seemed to be bickering between themselves as they explained the dishes, one seeming to have more experience than the other as they would "one up" eachother with anything they shared between receiving clarifications as to how to prep the dish. The conversation they offered felt forced, almost as if they were being evaluated, and spoke in a generic manner just to get through the shift. Their usual retort would be "Damn thats crazy", which isn't something to say when youre following a conversation, wouldve been fine with silence. When I was trying to speak with my guest, not only the "chefs" but also the bartender would peer onto our every word, if I had anything to mention to my pair none of it was respected. Not even whispering I could share something. I will remember their glare more than the dishes. Even when asking for water or soy sauce it seemed like an inconvenience. When they asked for if we would like an additional piece, they rushed to give us the small piece, yet had comments to mention that they thought we would be leaving already. At one of the sushis, after they plate it and hand it, they forgot to grate some salt atop the sushi and grabbed the plates back from us to do so, which is a way is thoughtful but man was it a bad presentation. They did present every dish and their ingredients and where they were from. I have no clue how an experience that was reserved in advance for a flight of sushi ended up costing $600+ for 2 people, when the experience wouldve costed near $150 based on their ongoing special. Maybe I got charged for a whole table, and when asking for a receipt they mentioned they didn't have papers or a way to receive such. So they didn't honor their promotion, nor did they make one feel welcomed. Genuinely felt like I got scammed.

James maxxing. Josh maxxing. Greg maxxing. Yamil maxxing. Okay guys, I did it! Haha Honestly, 100/10. These guys brought their A game. What a fantastic experience, start to finish. The drinks, the food, the atmosphere. I was begging for mercy at the end. We had the most fun, my husband will not shut up about this meal. I would book a trip to San Juan again just to come back for this Omakase experience. Sushi by Bou > Nobu. No cap. TTP.

This is an intimate space with attention to detail. Lounge area for parties or karaoke is separate from the sushi bar. Omakase was beautiful, chef was friendly and part of the fun! The sushi was flavorful and the experience is true to the art form. Bou has an expert bartender who makes balanced craft cocktails, ask about the barkeep special! Highly recommend! The entire staff were sweet and accommodating. Captain James Davila runs a lovely establishment.
