Umami Restaurant serves Puerto Rican food and seafood near Playa Santa in Guánica. Seafood salads, fish dishes, pasta, meats and mofongos make the menu broad enough for different preferences around the table. Despite its Japanese-inspired name, the culinary identity is rooted in criollo cooking, with a relaxed setting that works after the beach or for an evening meal.

The food is amazing and staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the Mahi ceviche, Umanimofongo, and Fried Snapper.

6:27-8:22 Saturday, October 17, 2026 A very disappointing experience. I waited almost two hours for my food, and the service was very slow with little communication. The tostones were crispy like chips, and the white rice was good, but the churrasco was not good and needed chimichurri. The fried chicken needed to be cooked a little longer, and to top it all off, I found a piece of paper in the beans! The fried cheesecake was just okay. I understand that the restaurant is busy, but the wait and the quality of the food did not justify the experience. I would not return.
