Sofia’s Old San Juan

Upon arriving I did not have a reservation. I said it was just me dining . They said all inside tables were for reservations and that I would have to sit outside . Then after being seated the manager comes up to the table and tells me that I cannot sit there . That outside tables are for 2-3 people . He made me get up and the first guy who sat me there apologized to me and said I had to get out of the table there and that they would have a place inside for me . So I got up and went inside . Then they had no tables inside to seat me . Then they said to go back outside and it would be fine . Really???? I did not feel this experience was necessary and it really lacked professionalism from the manager . He never apologized . The other server involved did . I felt like at this place you can’t dine alone . Never had an experience ever like this . Food was mediocre at best . It was store bought pasta soaked in cream sauce - small portion and a high cost for a portion no bigger than a kids meal .Waiter did his job and was courteous but the manager was very rude and should never speak to someone like that . I felt extremely unwelcome upon arrival dining there alone . I was around the corner a a small family run Italian restaurant last week . They were closed and the uber driver and another person suggested I go there . BIG MISTAKE ! HUGE ! WILL NEVER GO BACK.

Delicious. Luis Fernando served us and was very kind and patient. His recommendations were absolutely spot on. The creme brûlée was exquisite.

I treat myself to going once or twice a month. The best flavors in red meat.

Absolutely loved Sofia’s! The food was delicious and everyone was so warm and welcoming, i went back 3 times during my trip! Loved meeting everyone and tasting the different delicious foods. Will definitely be back!
