a month agoA very disappointing experience. The reservation system leaves much to be desired. I made a reservation through OpenTable, clearly specifying that I wanted a table inside the establishment, and the reservation was confirmed by the system. I drove for 2.5 hours to get there, and upon arrival, I was informed that they had no tables available inside. The explanation I received was that “it was a problem with the OpenTable system.” However, if an establishment uses a reservation system, it is their responsibility to ensure that the reservations they accept can be honored. Blaming the system does not absolve the establishment of responsibility nor compensate the customer for the inconvenience. They also offered me no alternative seating inside. The only option they gave me was a table outside, where the heat and humidity were unbearable. Most concerning is that there wasn't even a fan to help alleviate the heat, despite the fact that even the servers were complaining about the conditions outside. After driving 2.5 hours to reach a place with a confirmed reservation, I expected a minimum level of organization and customer service. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but. The customer service was extremely poor, and the way they handled the situation was even more disappointing. If they're going to offer a booking system, they should ensure it works properly and, when a problem occurs, take responsibility and find a solution for the customer instead of simply blaming the system.

a month agoI've never had a reservation at a place that gave me such terrible service as this one. I'll start with the less bad things. First, they only had one menu. We had to share it; they never offered us the cocktail menu or the wine list. We only found out they had them because we saw them on other tables. The table they seated us at was right under the air conditioner and had a leak. These are things I could have overlooked that would never have led me to leave a bad review. But to be fair, I think it was just bad luck. The waiter never came to take our appetizer order. Another waiter (a second waiter) had to come and ask if they had taken our order and then throw it away. Our particular waiter only came to the table twice: once to ask what I wanted to drink and once to bring the drinks (that's when he took my order). A few minutes later (after we had ordered), a (third) waiter asked us if they had "offered us the special dishes that weren't on the menu." To which I obviously replied no, since they never offered us anything and we had already ordered. When they brought the food, I wanted to ask for salt and order something else to drink. The waiter never appeared, so I had to ask for another waiter (the fourth one). When I asked the (second) waiter who was helping me, "Who is my waiter?" he smiled and said, "Why? Has everyone been serving you?" I replied, "I'm kind of lost," and he said, "Let's just say we're all your waiters." But his smile was more related to the fact that he knew the waiter I had was incompetent and he didn't want to throw him under the bus, as the saying goes. At that point, I was already annoyed. To the point that we went to the place specifically because we wanted to try the desserts, and we left without even finishing our meal. I was reaching a point where it was very difficult not to take the bad service personally. But as I said before, I think it was just bad luck. I got the only waiter who clearly didn't know how to do his job. All the other waiters were extremely kind and courteous. They helped in every way they could, even though our table wasn't theirs. As for the food, it tasted good. I have nothing bad to say about it. Perhaps I'll return someday, but I would explicitly request that they not serve that waiter. It was my first time there, and I left with a very bitter taste in my mouth.
